Hypershot
Hypershot was a personal favorite of mine to work on. This project went through its share of peaks and valleys over a multi-year development process, but the final product is something I’m incredibly proud of.
Early Funlab testing with a base prototype revealed something surprising, players kept comparing it to air hockey. That insight drove our design direction, influencing everything from the white perforated electronic surface to the red sliding pucks and bold black base. The goal was to communicate gameplay instantly through form factor and color, and it worked.
As an electronic game relying on precise scoring zones, we invested heavily in performance tuning calibration and repeated testing to ensure gameplay always felt fair and responsive.
Storage was another key consideration. With a play surface much larger than the package footprint, I developed a sliding base that channels inward, allowing the unit to collapse neatly without compromising the experience. This game stores together without a box and great for throwing in a bag for on the go fun!
