Grocery Go Karts

Race. Stack. Celebrate!

Grocery GO-Karts was a completely original internal concept I developed to bring a fresh spin to the preschool game space. Combining the excitement of a race with the fun of building. Players choose from four unique personality shopping karts and race around a grocery-themed track, collecting food items to stack into their cart. The goal: Be the first to collect all 8 items and reach the finish line, but you can’t exit until your cart is full!

The game board is designed as a continuous loop, discovered during playtesting to prevent premature exits and keep players engaged until their cart is complete. Early iterations explored food items falling out of the carts as a challenge, but this led to frustration with younger players. Instead, we designed the food to wobble and sway as you move, preserving the energy and movement without the frustration.

To deepen the grocery theme, we introduced Coupon Spaces, where players can earn bonuses like grabbing extra food items. And for the grand finale, the winning kart launches its food into the air, a moment that preschoolers absolutely love!
